How Much Will I Pay ?

This is the amount of rates you would have been billed for the rating year under the NAV system.
Amount of rates you would have been billed for the year under the NAV system plus 33%. (If your rates under the new Capital Value system exceed this amount, you will be entitled to Transitional Relief on the amount over and above 33%.)
This is the amount of rates you have been billed for the year under the new Capital Value system.
 
 
 
Transitional Relief only applies if the rates you are expected to pay under the new Capital Value system increases by more than 33% over the rates you would have paid for the year under the NAV system. Your percentage increase is this amount.
 
 
 
You are therefore entitled to this amount of Transitional Relief. 3
 
 
 

Notes

  1. Enter the old NAV of your property in the first box. This can be found on your 06/07 bill or by visiting the Fifth Revaluation List.
  2. Enter the CV of your property in the second box. This can be found on your new 09/10 bill or alternatively by visiting the Domestic Capital Value List.
  3. Transitional Relief for 2008/09 is two thirds of the difference between the third and second rows of the table if the amount under the Capital Value system is largest.
    Transitional Relief for 2009/10 is one third of the difference between the third and second rows of the table if the amount under the Capital Value system is largest.
  4. If the Capital Value has been revised upwards, for example due to alteration of your property, then the original CV is used to calculate Transitional Relief.
